JAMBOREE ON THE AIR
Have you ever wanted to take part in the world’s largest Scouting event? Make new friends in faraway places? Find out what other Scouts are doing in their packs, troops and crews? Discover the magic of communication without wires or a monthly bill? Then you’ll want to take part in Jamboree On The Air, the annual worldwide gathering of Scouts via amateur, or “ham” radio. Scouts of any age can participate – Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers…Girl Scouts too! There will be a JOTA amateur radio station at the Super Day of Training event at First Presbyterian Church, 26165 Farmington Road at 11 Mile, from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 15. You’ll find out about amateur radio and have an opportunity to talk on the air with Scouts in far-flung places, and learn how easy it is to get started earning your own amateur radio license. No need to register – just stop by, and there’s no cost. For more information, contact Frank Maynard at scouter@fmaynard.com
It has been a great summer!
Summer camp, high adventures, 2 MIS races and troop meetings have made it fun for all of us!
First troop meeting is September 6th at Meadows 5th grade house. We’ll be back to meeting every week that school is in session.
Hope to see you there!

March 18-20, we will be camping TENT camping at Camp Kiwanis.
The camp features a great orienteering course and bouldering wall along with a sledding hill we will all be happy to not take advantage of.
As the past week has demonstrated, March is a mixed bag weather-wise so remember: BE PREPARED. This means dressing in layers. A waterproof shell or rain jacket/poncho is a must.
Please bring permission slip to Tuesday’s meeting. If you cannot attend Tuesday and want to camp, please let Mr. Johns know by email before then.
